Eco Movers is committed to providing excellence in customer service while maintaining a sustainable relationship with our environment and supportive partnership with the communities we serve. We accomplish our mission by recycling where we can, but also taking steps to be proactive in protecting the earth. We make green moving practices accessible and affordable, and work with our partners to make a real-world impact on the planet.

History

Eco Movers was born out of a desire to change old, harmful moving practices with a fresh environmentally-friendly approach. We’ve grown into Seattle’s premiere sustainable moving company, and Google’s No. 1 mover in Washington state. Our thousands of pleased clients tell the story best, as a quarter of our business comes from return customers.

Eco Movers opened its current headquarters in Queen Anne in 2016, including our first storage facility. The fleet of trucks grew, adding new certified clean-idle vehicles. The warehouse allows us to ramp up our earth-friendly practices. We offer reusable wardrobe boxes in all our trucks for your convenience, and have thousands of reusable moving boxes to reduce cardboard use.

Eco Movers began dispatching trucks at north and south satellite locations in summer 2018, and merged with The Big Guys Home Delivery in January 2019, expanding to a second brick-and-mortar location in Woodinville to serve Seattle’s Eastside.

What can you expect from Eco Movers?

 

Scheduling

To get the most accurate quote, be prepared to give the following information to help us with your free estimate:

  • Date of move
  • Size/type of household to be moved
  • Start and finish address of the move
  • Distance from the front door to the truck
  • Any large or extra heavy items (+300 pounds)
  • How many flights of stairs?
  • Can we use an elevator?
  • Is there parking reserved?
  • Is there a steep driveway or other obstacles?

We use both email and telephone to contact customers prior to moving day and can text customers at your convenience. If you’d rather text to start the booking process, just click the green Podium logo in the lower right-hand corner of your screen.

Appointment times

We offer both morning and afternoon time slots. Our typical morning appointments are within an arrival window of 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with afternoon windows of 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Appointment times, especially afternoon appointments, may vary depending on our morning schedule. If you have specific timing needs — such as elevator or loading dock reservations — we will work to make arrangements you.

Confirmation

Once you have booked with Eco Movers, we will send an appointment confirmation within 24 hours of scheduling your move. This email will include detailed information about your move: the date, rate, crew size, locations and any other notes on moving day. It also includes a link to update your inventory list, which helps ensure our crews are fully prepared to serve you.

Before Your Move

Two or three days before your scheduled moving day, an Eco Movers representative will touch base with you to see if there are any last-minute arrangements or changes you would like to make before your upcoming move. We know moving can be very stressful, so if there is anything you need let us know and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs.

At this point, we’ll remind you to update your inventory and choose your valuation level.

Moving Day

We are port-to-port, which means hourly billing starts once the movers have left our warehouse. Your movers will park the truck at the nearest legal position closest to your home or office. Learn how to reserve parking by visiting our moving guide.

Your crew leader will take inventory of access points and the items to be moved, and confirm details on the job summary, before going over the bill of lading. You will need to sign the estimate and bill of lading before work can begin.

Our equipment

Our crews are fully-equipped with hand trucks, at least 50 top-quality professional moving pads, two furniture dollies, shrink wrap, moving straps and a full tool kit for easy assembly and disassembly of beds and other furniture. Your movers will make every effort possible to protect your home by laying floor protection.
