Overall, I had a good experience with EcoMovers, but I had some issues. Some aspects were solved later, but I will need to paint a picture with... details. The quote was pretty close to the cost of my move, without considering tips for the crew and the insurance I added on.I was originally quoted as needing a 5 person crew for 8 hours. Of note, they wanted to have their workers back at the depot before 7pm after having their crews start at 9am, which I supported. I won't say the quoted $$ amount because EcoMovers deserves to make their own quotes and may change their prices in either direction later.To review readers that do not want to read further, my move did not go as planned, but EcoMovers was fairly generous, listened to my feedback, and compensated me for my troubles when I voiced my complaints with my issues- they even directly solicited my feedback from their head office. Details below.Firstly, they have an inventory estimate tool. Use this, and be as accurate as possible to make sure your quote can be accomplished. My inventory was judged by a moving crew member as "accurate", which is relevant later.The day of my move, the movers showed up later than expected. Their first truck broke down, so they showed up after 10 am. This pushes the 8 hour estimate all the way to 6pm, but only 3 of the crew go in each truck, so the first crew got started right away while the second truck was on the way. The second crew of 2 showed up after 12, as that second truck also broke down and they needed to be picked up with a new truck.The crews, when they got to my departing apartment, were very professional, efficient, and worked hard and constantly to complete my move. However, due to the mechanical failures and needing to be back at the depot by 7pm for a fair day's labor, they could not complete my move in one day, and we decided that the most fair result would be to extend the move to two days. EcoMovers did ask my opinion of this, and I more weighed the quality of life of the workers over my desires to have a one-day move. This was really only decided after 75% of my items were loaded, so there was no opportunity to unpack my wardrobe or some kind of sleeping furniture. My wife and I elected to get a hotel overnight and bought some clothes to change into the next day.Day two had a different crew, and they were also a great crew. The unloading proceeded as estimated, but with the complication of the crew having to go back for the second truck. To EcoMover's credit, they did not bill me for the second truck driving time. The second day was smooth, the crew placed all the items in their designated rooms, and reassembled some of our furniture in-place.In the end, EcoMovers also recompensated us for some of the extra driving time, the hotel stay, and the inconvenience of having a two day move that was originally planned to be one day due to mechanical failures. I feel like they treated me fairly, but I took a star off (I wish it could be half a star) because of their mechanical failures. The head office agreed that had there been no mechanical failures, this move could have been done in one day (in part, I believe, due to the accuracy of the moving estimate that I set), which I think speaks to their willingness to treat their customers well. We moved from a two-bed two-bath apartment to a house with Eco Movers. The three men team, lead by Silver, was extremely professional and efficient... with packing and moving our stuff. They wrapped our furniture and moved them very carefully. They were giving full attention when passing through doors and staircases to not damage the wall edges. We felt pretty comfortable during the move. Jaime was an excelent driver and a great mover. He backed up a 26-foot truck to our narrow driveway super carefully. Marcelo gave an amazing help as well. The whole team worked in great harmony with each other and were super nice and polite during the entire move.I booked my service over phone with Jose Garcia, from sales team. Great communication via text and email both before and during the move so I knew what, who, and when to expect things. Luis and Felix handled my move, and they were very professional, careful, and efficient. They had all the right supplies to help secure my things and move them smoothly through two apartment buildings and elevators. They worked hard and did a wonderful job to complete everything within the quoted timeframe. I also used the HiveBoxx service, which was a really smooth experience -- I highly recommend. The boxes are very sturdy and come with a wheel dolly for easy stacking and moving. They deliver and pickup the boxes according to your chosen moving window. It really helped streamline the process and it was nice to have durable, reusable materials to use for moving. I chose a mover that was close to our apartment because I knew we had to pay for travel time. We are 1.5 miles away from Movers which Google maps... says it’s a five minute drive. Movers arrived for unload at 8:47 am. We anticipated the move to take about 2 hours, however in reality it was 2.5 hours with the added, 10 minutes of drive to and from their location. We were charged for 3 hours. I asked why and was told that they left their office at 8:15 when I pointed out what time they arrived and how far they were from us. I was told that Google maps got them lost. I asked, why we were supposed to pay for that? He added, we also had to prep the truck. I looked at him and said, this was an unload. The only thing they needed was a dolly, however, they bought a huge truck, which actually took up a lot of space in the small parking lot. In addition, when he first arrived he told us that he thought it was a load and he said there was a four hour minimum. I told him I was quoted by Jesus for a one hour minimum and that we were unloading not loading. He had to call Jesus and get it all straightened out. This took an additional 10 minutes. I have tried calling them on multiple occasions to talk to Jesus about a 30 minute refund and have not heard back in four days. Very disappointing!Update: I received an email today recognizing their faults and they are sending me a check for the 30 minutes I requested. Darius, Andre and Eric were more than a company coming in and moving stuff around. They took care of our things and of us throughout the day. My wife... and I spent the week boxing everything up, but these guys went beyond and wrapped, protected, cushioned and cared for our furniture and giant 75” tv so well, we never flinched a single time all day. They were also very courteous and provided an atmosphere as if they were instantly family the moment they walked in. Don’t get me wrong though, they were not sitting around just chatting, they were moving very efficiently and happily all day (finished early even)!Our apartment we moved into required a $300 fee to use the elevator for move in days which we paid and we still had a few neighbors behave so incredibly rude and mean to the Ecomover crew and seeing how professional, polite and diffusing the Eco crew was really left a mark on me I won’t soon forget. You could tell these men from Ecomovers were more professional than most empty suits could dream of ever being. In terms of price value: with these kinds of things, the quality of worker cannot be overlooked. Ecomovers was by no means more expensive. It was actually within $100 of the three companies I contacted. Ecomovers had the most thorough and responsive admin though so we went with them and the actual crew was nothing but the best and top of the line professionals who took their jobs seriously. I was referred to Eco Movers via another top rated moving company that didn't have availability when I needed it. She sent me a 10-STAR four man crew who handled the packing of my entire home better than I expected. Borus was amazing with Logistics and directing his team efficiently and smooth as butter. I was very impressed with the professionalism and the customer service oriented nature of Eco Movers Moving. I am from out of town and was helping my... daughter move from her college housing situation to her post grad townhouse. I didn’t know any local companies but I got lucky by using Eco Movers because they were professional from the first call, to follow up emails, to a 30 minute call ahead so you knew they were on their way. They were hard working, friendly, took care of the things they were moving as if it were their own stuff. In addition, they were very nice and accommodating. The morning of the move my daughter’s roommate asked if we could move a sectional couch that she had that she couldn’t move herself. Eco Movers said they had enough room in the truck and were happy to help move the couch too. They were very helpful and accommodating!
