How far in advance should I book my movers?
Whether you’re moving a small apartment down the block or moving your large home across the state, it’s always good to plan ahead! Depending on how large your move is, you may have a little more to do in preparation, and that starts with speaking with a moving consultant and getting a lay of the land.
In general, the larger your move is, the further in advance you should get something on the books. We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance for a smaller apartment move, and at least a month in advance for a larger home or a pack-and-move project that could stretch into multiple days.
For long distance, we recommend 4-6 weeks in advance to ensure we have time to set up the logistics of your long-distance move.
If you book in advance, you’re likely to save money! Most companies will have flexible rates depending on the season and the time of the month. The end of the month — usually after the 25th — is typically the busiest and commands the highest rates, and the summer season will always be more expensive than the winter season. If you get on the calendar before the schedule starts to fill up, especially for weekend dates, there’s a good chance companies will be more willing to give a better rate.
At Eco Movers, our sales consultants are trained to remove stress from the moving process. We’ll help organize the logistics of your move and settle on a date that works best for you.
